Assessment of credit for tertiary courses completed prior to admission into current program.

Assessment of credit for tertiary courses completed prior to admission into current program.

An application for credit will not be considered prior to an application for admission being received.

This document should be read in conjunction with the Credit Policy and Procedure. The assessment of credit and the amount of credit granted is in accordance with Coursework Award Rules.

Any credit granted to a student will be classified by the Sub Dean as:

  1. Specified: when the prior study by the student corresponds substantially to the work required in a specific course prescribed for a Bachelor degree offered by the College.
  2. Unspecified: when the prior study by the student does not correspond to the work required in a specific course prescribed for a Bachelor degree offered by the College, but it is still suitable to that particular Bachelor degree.
  3. Exemption: when the prior study by the student contributes substantially to the work required in a specific component of a Bachelor degree, but where ‘specified’ status is not applicable. ‘Exemption’ status may be granted with associated ‘unspecified’ status as appropriate.

Process
