Education governance framework for Science and Medicine
Summary
Last updated: 2018
Purpose
This framework defines the governance mechanisms that are applied to education programs in the College of Science and Medicine (CoSM). The framework is aligned to the ANU Delegations of Authority policy and mirrors the terminology used within the ANU delegation framework.
Principles
- This framework underpins the delivery of efficient and effective student administration and education support in CoSM.
- In accordance with the University’s Delegations Policy, only the College Dean may appoint Associate Deans and Delegated Authorities in the College of Science and Medicine.
- The College Dean CoSM, delegate the education responsibilities as defined in the “College Dean” delegation profile to:
- the Director, School of Medicine and Psychology (for the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery) and;
- the Associate Dean (Education) (for all other CoSM programs).
- The Doctor of Medicine and Surgery is managed separately to other CoSM programs, including a separate delegations structure and administration team, due to the unique accreditation and program requirements which differentiate it from other programs.
