About
The College Education Committee is a sub-committee of the College Executive Committee.The Committee is responsible for identifying and promoting best practice in learning and teaching, and for the provision of information and advice to the Associate Dean Education on all matters relating to Governance, Quality Assurance, Student Experience and management of coursework programs.
Roles and Responsibilities
The role of the Committee is to:
- Advise the Associate Dean Education and College Executive on all matters relating to the College Education programs;
- Foster excellence in learning and teaching in health and medicine by: o Developing and maintaining a strategy for education across the College; o Overseeing, co-ordinating and approving of undergraduate and postgraduate educational offerings across the College; o Monitoring the quality and academic standards of learning and teaching including through course and program reviews; o Identifying opportunities for continuing to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the College including consideration of teaching and assessment methods and innovation; and o Monitoring external developments relating to learning and teaching and providing advice to the Associate Dean Education on appropriate responses;
- Regularly review all College protocols, guidelines and processes related to learning and teaching, recommend revision to the Associate Dean Education and oversee implementation;
- Consider reports from all School Education and other Sub-committees and Working Parties;
- Ensure alignment of education practice with University policies and procedures and provide feedback to the Academic Board and itsEducation Subcommittees (LTC and AQAC);
- Undertake strategic planning in learning and teaching within the College, and with other ANU Colleges and partners external to the University. This will include funding, marketing, resourcing and infrastructure of learning and teaching
