Our Master programs in public health will prepare you to improve the population’s mental and physical health through discovery, education and the translation of research into effective health policy and practice.
Expand your career opportunities with a qualification from Australia’s #1 university. The ANU Postgraduate Information Evening is on Wednesday 8 November at 5-7pm
We draw on many different areas of population health to give you a comprehensive understanding of the field, including:
- mental health
- health services research
- global health
- chronic disease epidemiology
- environment, climate and health
- infectious disease epidemiology and modelling
- society, culture and health.
Workplace-related learning can be readily incorporated for those who work in relevant public health jobs.
ANU is ranked the best university in Australia1 and the only Australian university rated ‘well above world standard’ for public health and health service research in all three of the Excellence in Research for Australia evaluations. Your teachers will be practicing researchers who bring to the classroom findings from the field and case-studies from the nationally-significant centres we house at the ANU Research School of Population Health. You will also have access to leading practitioners as guest lecturers, thanks to our close relationships with government departments and industry bodies in Canberra.
These programs are designed for health professionals seeking a qualification to equip them for management; graduates wanting a qualification in public health practice; and health administrators and policy workers needing a qualification to assist their career. Our graduates have gone on to roles with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the World Health Organisation and the Centre for Mental Health Research. The Master of Public Health (Advanced) is a pathway to a PhD.
