Hi, my name is Lachlan. At the start of 2015 I made the move from my hometown near the Barossa Valley in South Australia to study a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) in Science at ANU. The focus of my studies is medical research and so far I have completed projects working on malaria, cancer, ageing, bacterial infections and hepatitis C, and I aim to continue on to study medicine at ANU Medical School after completing my undergraduate studies. I love the opportunities studying at ANU has offered me, like living on campus at John XXIII College, being the President of the ANU PhB Society and studying in far away places like Copenhagen and Chiang Mai. Currently, I am again studying abroad, this time at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland for a semester-long exchange.
